Let's start by breaking the myth of Chinese ladies. They are not of Chinese origin.

In 1883, an American George Howard Monks invented a game called "Halma". This name means "jump" and it is also the name of one of the five events of ancient pentathlon.

In 1892, a variant of the game, playing on boxes arranged in a star, was patented and marketed by a German company under the name of “Halma” in a star ”.

It was only in 1928 that the expression "Chinese ladies»Emerges in particular by its popularity in Asia. Today many countries continue to name the game "Halma".

 The goal of this natural wood board game: 

Chinese lady's game consists in bringing back its colored pawns to the opposite tip of the star. You can jump your opponents to move forward faster, but unlike traditional ladies, you cannot eat them.
